By accessing or using withroots.org, ShotSync, ShotLab, the waitlist, or any related Roots features and content, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site or services.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Roots. If you are under 18, you may use Roots only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Roots provides AI-assisted basketball training tools, including video-based shooting analysis, player-comparison features, history views, and related product content. Roots is intended for skill development and informational purposes only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or professional coaching guarantees.
If you create an account or use authenticated features, you are responsible for your account activity and for providing accurate information. We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms, harms other users, or creates legal, security, or operational risk.
You retain ownership of the videos, images, feedback, and other content you submit to Roots. By submitting content, you grant Roots a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, and display that content as needed to operate, improve, secure, and support the service. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit the content and to grant this license.
You may not use Roots to break the law, infringe another party’s rights, upload content you do not have permission to use, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer non-public parts of the platform, or use the service to build or train a competing product from Roots output except where applicable law clearly permits it.
Athletic activity involves risk. You are responsible for how you train and for your own health and safety decisions. Roots does not warrant that its recommendations are safe, injury-preventive, or appropriate for your body, condition, or skill level. Always use independent judgment and consult a qualified professional for medical, rehabilitation, or injury-related concerns.
Roots uses automated systems and machine-learning models, which may produce incomplete, incorrect, or inconsistent results. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free analysis, or that any specific result will improve athletic performance, recruiting outcomes, or training decisions.
The Roots site, branding, software, product design, and service content are owned by Roots or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service in accordance with these Terms, no rights are granted to you.
If Roots offers paid plans or paid features, the applicable pricing, billing terms, and any renewal terms will be presented at the point of purchase. Unless otherwise stated there, payments are non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roots is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roots and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roots’ total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Roots for the applicable service in the 12 months before the claim arose or $100.
